The senior care industry is growing exponentially, with new trends and challenges emerging in response to an aging population. Families face difficult decisions when searching for a safe, comfortable, and high-quality living environment for their loved ones. This process can be overwhelming. Many are unaware of the available resources and support or may have misconceptions about how senior care placement works. Balancing everyday responsibilities like managing finances, jobs, and children alongside finding suitable care can make this task even more daunting.
To shed more light on these issues, we spoke with Caeleb Torres, a Senior Care Placement Specialist and co-founder of a placement agency. Drawing from his personal experiences and professional insights, Caeleb shared valuable information on navigating the placement process, debunking common myths, and ensuring high-quality care. Here’s what he had to say.
I’ve noticed that families sometimes place their loved ones in a facility that might not fit best. This can happen when people are rushed or overwhelmed by the process. Finding the right match is essential, and that’s why our services exist—to help families find options and ensure the best possible environment for their loved ones.
A huge misconception is that people think placement agencies are a scam or cause more of a hassle when, in reality, we just want to take the stress of finding a home off our shoulders. Having to pay bills, take care of children, and many more things, all while trying to find the best home for a loved one, can be very difficult and stressful. I address it by explaining as best as I can what our goals are and that we are only here to help them, not burden them.

I look for cleanliness, behavior, prices, the size of the adult family home, how many different formats of rooms they have, and what they serve to eat. We have a very high qualification process to ensure nothing but the best for our clients.
My single piece of advice would be to talk with a placement agency and figure out how they can assist you in this stressful time. Not everyone trusts the process because they might not have been through this situation before. However, meet the agent in person to see how he is and how he can find the best home suitable for your loved one.
Caeleb Torres’s insights highlight the importance of making informed choices and knowing about the support placement agencies can provide.
