Over 23.3% (or roughly 135,237 people) of Wyoming’s population are aged 60 or above. In line with this significant demographic shift, the state implements specific regulations to ensure the well-being of seniors. Homemakers and agencies must navigate these complex regulations to stay compliant and competent:
Service Provision
Homemakers may be employed directly by a home health agency or contracted through a vendor agreement.
Responsibilities
Their responsibilities include assisting with instrumental activities of daily living, such as housekeeping and homemaking services, while refraining from providing any personal care.
Training Topics
Training covers nine broad topics, including orientation to homemaker services, communication, emergency procedures, and client rights and obligations.
Competency Evaluation
Homemakers are evaluated by the ACC every 180 days to ensure competency. A competency form is required for CNAs, homemakers, and chore personnel, verifying their skills through observation, verbal, or written demonstration.
